Destructuring
Destructuring — Destructuring unpack values from arrays or properties from objects into distinct variables using a syntax that mirrors the structure. Destructuring was introduced in ES6 and provides a concise way to extract values. Array destructuring uses position, object destructuring uses property names. Both support default values, nested destructuring, and rest patterns. Destructuring is heavily used in React for props and state. This term relates to the Operators category of the reference. You will meet destructuring in practice when working with APIs such as + (Addition), - (Subtraction), * (Multiplication), === (Strict Equality). Related terms: Closure, Hoisting, Event Loop, Prototype Chain, Temporal Dead Zone (TDZ), IIFE (Immediately Invoked Function Expression). Understanding destructuring makes the rest of the JavaScript documentation noticeably easier to follow, because the concept recurs across methods, guides, and error messages.
