JavaScript Storage_session Guide
sessionStorage provides tab-scoped temporary storage. Data persists only for the current page session. The guide walks through sessionStorage. Same API as localStorage: `setItem`, `getItem`, `removeItem`, `clear`. Data cleared when tab/window closes. NOT shared between tabs (except same-origin iframes). Use for: temporary form data, one-time session flags, page navigation state. 5-10MB limit. Synchronous — avoid for large data. The guide is organized into 1 sections that build on each other, each pairing a prose explanation with runnable code. Related guides: Arrays, Strings, Numbers, Math, Date. This is one of 145 JavaScript guides on JS Reference — see the full list on the guides page. Practice what you learn in the JavaScript playground, and look up any unfamiliar term in the JavaScript glossary.
